Every piece starts with traditional artisan techniques — wire-wrapped, woven, or hand-cast — rather than mass production. Chan has always believed that something made by hand carries a connection to the wearer that a machine-made piece simply can't replicate.

Chan built her business around fair labor practices and reliable, well-paid work for artisans overseas — leadership that earned recognition from the United Nations and helped set a standard for the industry around her.

Since 2021, Chan's niece and longtime head of design, Tessa Tran, has led the brand as CEO and Creative Director. She's brought her own point of view to the collections while keeping the mission the same: preserving artisan craft, one handmade piece at a time.
